Studio Theatre, Harbourfront Centre

Harbourfront is a major cultural and entertainment centre on Toronto’s waterfront. The project began in the early 1970’s by reclaiming 10 acres of industrial land which had fallen into disuse. Initially, its programs were developed and run in renovated industrial structures. Later, a considerable number of new buildings and facilities were constructed to meet the ever rising demand.

The 250 seat Studio Theatre was one of the first facilities to be created in the industrial complex at Harbourfront’s York Quay Centre. After many years of service, Harbourfront decided to upgrade and improve this modest but effective facility. We provided an analysis of the plans for improvements both to the facility as a whole and to the production equipment it contained.  We also put forward recommendations with respect to room acoustics, lighting, seating and other equipment.
